A very beautiful and rare I believe 1930s Japanese till made from bamboo. It has a main brass leaver which when pressed opens the main drawer and makes the bell work with the ka-ching sound.
There is also a smaller drawer near the top with 2 compartments. On top there is a slot for coins where they fall through to the left hand compartment in the main drawer. To the back of the till there are two bronze plaques one with a figure one with writing. Apparently it is the early 1900s Japanese patent number 95879.
It is in excellent condition ready to use as a toll or as a decorative item. It measures approximately 37.5cm wide x 31cm deep x 43.5cm high.
