National Cash Register NCR Class 126 Arkwright vintage steampunk shop till

This is a beautiful and original, yet restored and fully working, NCR Class 100 till from the National Cash Register Co. Built in its factory in Dundee, Scotland, this model became famous as "Arkwright's till" in the BBC sitcom Open All Hours. This model has a printer unit and a Bakelite cash drawer, the front of which has suffered slight damage which has been repaired.

With worn and rusting paintwork, the cabinet has been taken to pieces, grit blasted to remove rust and lacquered with a powder-coated and heat-cured clear acrylic coating, so it shows the bare metal and signs of its age. The mechanism is in good order, so please contact me to view videos of it in operation , and has been cleaned appropriately and lubricated. It also has a brand new ink ribbon, which means the printer is now fully functioning and visible on the audit paper roll. Comes with a key to allow full operation, although the lock mechanism is redundant and cannot secure the register.

However, this does allow all functions to be accessed, including resetting, changing paper roll and ink ribbon. This till can be used in a functional setting, or would make an ideal display piece either in a shop or other setting, or within the home.
